Ferry Plaza

For the longest time, Ferry Plaza means a large organic and gourmand farmers market in San Francisco. The farmers market endured while the location merged with the name-sake building - One Ferry Building. So, in addition to the make-shift farmer stands, there are some 40 permanent shops serving specialty, regional, and gourmet products.

It is a historic building with tall ceiling and lots of light and a gregarious traffic flow - an ideal location to scrutinize the latest chocolate concoctions of Scharffen Berger, sample the delicious fruit and fruit pastry of Frog Hollow, and munch on fish taco of Mijita. Of course, with shops and restaurants in twelve categories from antiques, bread-cheese, meat-poultry-fish, to wine-spirits, there is something for everyone.

For a tourist trap, it is a fun place to visit for a lazy afternoon.
